Union

People were buzzing about Union and how great that restaurant is. I have always bought their cake only and haven't try to dine in before. This time, I'm trying out Union restaurant at last. I'm curious to what people have said to me before whether it's really good or it's just another overrated restaurant. Some people told me that Union is overpriced and their food is not that great either. Still, I gotta try, right?

Union restaurant is located at Plaza Senayan inside the Sogo department store besides Starbucks. Its interior is very american-ish and not that big in my opinion and the smell of smoke fulfills the air heavily as if I'm not mistaken the whole room is a smoking area. It's really crowded and full with the chattering noises yet it's really noisy and loud unlike Social House, we can hear chattering noises but not as loud and noisy as Union.

So I came there with my sister and when we're seated already, we were told that the seat only available for one and a half hour only. I mean, what kind of restaurant is that? I know perhaps it's very busy and therefore they made a limited time for the customers but one a half hour is a really short time. I simply dislike any kind of restaurant that limit our time inside the restaurant.

They served us a basket of bread with cream cheese paste and the bread is really nice and the cream cheese paste too. It leaves a deep impression to me because the bread is really fresh and crumbly. So I ordered ravioli and my sister ordered souffle dessert. The ravioli pasta was good yet it's salty and therefore the taste of the ravioli is like a simple restaurant's taste instead of a high great restaurant such as Union. The taste doesn't worth for its price because I expected a very delicious taste and a very rich taste yet I was given a very ordinary taste and it's salty for this kind of restaurant. As for the souffle, it's nice. Better than Bakerzin's though. So thankfully, it's not that disappointing for the souffle.
